General Policies

Drop-off/Pick-up
Children will only be released to adults authorized (in writing) for pick up by the child’s primary caregiver.  In case of an emergency the parent can call the teacher or give a not allowing other individuals to pick up their child.  This policy is meant to ensure the safety of your child.  The file is based on the information provided on the enrollment forms.  All information in the child’s file is considered confidential and used only regarding the care for the child.  To change these names written notification must be submitted to the director by the primary caregiver.

Punctuality
It is important that we start preschool on time so that the children get the most of their time.  It helps me as a teacher and other students if your child is on time.  Also, there is a 10 minute late pick up or early drop off allowance in case of an emergency.

Change of clothing
Although your child may be potty trained there are still accidents that happen at school.  I would like to lessen the impact of these accidents, and quickly return your child to the class by having parents provide one extra set of clothes for each child,  to be kept In their classroom. 

Folders
Your child will be provided with a folder that is to come to and from preschool with them everyday.  

Supplies and snacks
Supplies are included in the cost of tuition, except for special programs and events.  For example, students may be asked to contribute food for a party, or the preschool may collect plastic bottles or cans for art projects.  A note will be sent home if the preschool is asking for supplemental supplies.  Snacks will not be provided on a daily basis,  There are times we have snacks that go along with our theme but again this is not daily.  If you  child has a special dietary requirement, please alert me.  Please do not allow children to bring candy, gum, toys or other treats to preschool.

Books for sale
Occasionally we will send home book order forms with your child.  Books can be ordered from these companies for you to share with your children.  Book orders are offered as an optional courtesy to our students and their families.

Birthdays
We do celebrate birthdays in our classroom.  We sing to the children and they are the special helper for that day.  If their birthday does not fall on a day we are in school,  it will be celebrated the first day of class before their birthday.  You are welcome to bring a treat for the class if your child wishes, a class list will be provided.
